I learned a dirty little secret my first time shooting food and I’m going to make some people very disappointed but here it goes. Most of the food that you see in brochures, commercials and other media is not real food. The mash potatoes are made of some foreign synthetic material and the green beans are well, as waxy as real green beans so no difference there I guess. I was fortunate enough to shoot (capture) real food with real chefs for most of my culinary jobs. Oh yeah the best part was I got to eat all this food, or at least taste it. Every thing you see here is real food made by a real person and edible. Most of it was made for a diabetic child who could not even see carbs without his insulin spiking.

I’m sure this will go in one ear and out the other but just think of how embarrassing it must be if you get caught showing an image someone else took? Then think of how anyone can sue you for just about anything you do even if it was done years ago. The longer the time the larger the settlement. Food for thought!
