Photographer Eddy Mendoza

All of the images on this site are the property of photographer Eddy Mendoza and are not to be used without consent. I’m sure this will go in one ear and out the other but just think of how embarrassing it must be if you get caught showing an image someone else took? Then think of how anyone can sue you for just about anything you do even if it was done years ago. The longer the time the larger the settlement. Food for thought!

Photographer Eddy Mendoza has been working as a photographer in the entertainment industry for the past few decades capturing actors, models and other entertainers creating their portfolio and other marketing tools.

I learned a few tricks while in the entertainment industry and now I can share them with you.

Working as a photographer behind the camera taught me to see things in a different way. Today I am able to share what I’ve learned with my clients. Working as an actor gave me the insight on how people react to direction from others, cameras and lighting and the difficulties they bring. It is important to know what your clients are experiencing in order to understand their mental and physical concerns.

Shooting fashion allowed me to learn lots of techniques and especially how quality clothing can make the difference between a good image and a great image. I was fortunate enough to have worked with some of the best fashion designers including a haute couture designer who trusted me with his creative process and artistic designs. I developed new insights and techniques which I will never forget.

One of the most exciting and scary experiences, and I’ve had many in my life, some I can’t even share with anyone, was when I landed a gig playing a doctor on The Learning Channel (TLC) as Dr. Shaki Saad on Untold Stories of the ER. I remember almost puking in the audition room after watching a scene of the actual doctor operating on someone. I was so nervous not because I don’t like to see blood but because just a few months prior to this audition I had quadruple bypass surgery and the fear I experienced was still warm in my head. The operating scene was no better. Thank God I had two real doctors behind me watching the operation I performed on a dummy otherwise I would have puked and then passed out. I don’t want to get too deep in the details and they are pretty gruesome I will elaborate when we meet.

Working as a spokesperson for a Spanish based media company allowed me to practice my Spanish. Hollywood is all a facade folks and it can be anything you wish it to be.

I once played a NY cop in a movie, that was exciting. If they had only let me shoot the bad guy….

Yeah that’s me in a rap video folks! I played a teacher who got thrown over his desk by a not so nice student, HOPSIN himself!
