Capturing young kids is not easy. They twitch, scratch, daze into nowhere, and rub their eyes a lot. Sometimes you do get that one child that seems to be thinking about life and surprises you. This shoot was exactly that. She not only sat for the shoot but she thought about was going on and gave me what I needed that day. Most of the children I’ve captured through the years were actors and agents need a certain look from them for a role so my job is to get the kids to react and in very little time. At first I didn’t know what I was doing or what to say to them but eventually I just started a conversation and the rest came easy. I have been so fortunate to have been able to capture so many actors, kids in particular. Children are more giving and less presumptuous. They tell you what’s in their heart, adults not so much.
